Take a moment please...

Have you ever asked yourself, “What is my role in climate change?” Maybe there is something that you can do differently! The intention of this project is to raise awareness about the climate emergency the world is experiencing and how some minor changes can be beneficial for all of us, some things that are part of everyone’s life

Regarding saving this precious planet for us and the generations to come, we should be more aware how our food has an impact on it.

Let's see how your food choices can affect
climate change!

For each food below, the amount of CO2 emissions per kilogram produced of this type of food is represented in the chart.

= 300 g

Why should I care about CO2 emission?

CO2 Emission & GHG
are the main causes for Global warming

What is the role of the food industry
in the global CO2 emissions?

27% of global CO2 emissions come from the food industry. It is the single largest contributing factor to CO2 emissions. The other 73% is composed of transportation, industries, electricity, heating and many more.

In the food sector, 53% is due to meat. The emissions come from livestocks, deforestation to make space for grazing and crops to feed the animals. Beef is the type of meat that pollutes the most and it is shown that reducing our meat consumption would benefit the climate.

What would it be like if the entire world
was eating likeYour Country ?

The food industry is a major actor in world's CO2 emissions and thus also responsible for global warming.
The next question we want then to answer is who and why.

To answer that we want to focus on people's diet. We collected data on each country habits of consumming. This shows, on average, how the country's habitants eat.
We saw that each product doesn't emits the same amount of CO2, so depending on how they eat, the country will have its CO2 emissions impacted.

In order to have a first impression on a chosen country habit of consumption, we show how much ressource of the Earth global population would need if every one on the planet was consuming as an average person of that country.

If everyone was consumming like the average person in Canada : we would need 1.30 Earth *
